And the Supreme Court? Seemed pretty skeptical about the legality of Trump's tariffs in the first place. So, that whole scheme might just be hot air anyway. What happens if the Supreme Court rules against the tariffs? Does the money get clawed back? Does anyone even care at this point?
Meanwhile, the internet's doing what it does best: churning out fake news. Rumors of stimulus checks flying around like pigeons in Times Square. "OMG! $1,702 payments!" "Check your mailbox for a $1,390 check!" It's always some state-level program or, more likely, a straight-up scam.
And law enforcement in Northern Virginia is warning people about stimulus check fraud. Shocker.
The IRS always warns about this crap. They don't email you. They don't text you. They don't slide into your DMs. They send you a letter. On paper. Like it's still 1985.
